Aspirant Programme

For aspiring dancers, Joburg Ballet’s Aspirant Programme offers a unique opportunity to train for a year with a professional ballet company and experience the environment of the professional ballet dancer. This exposure also allows young dancers to assess whether they are equipped physically and mentally for the rigours of a ballet career. Successful applicants participate in Joburg Ballet’s company classes, rehearsals and productions. At the completion of the one-year course Aspirants are evaluated and, depending on availability, offered contracts with Joburg Ballet.
